About the role Our Maintenance Technicians are responsible for repairing, adjusting, and/or maintaining industrial production and processing machinery in a safe, clean, and efficient manner. This position performs basic troubleshooting and repairs with direction and oversight.
Desirable shift schedules! 12-hour workdays on 3rd shift (6:55 pm - 7 am). We work 2-3-2 rotation. Responsibilities - Supports a safe work environment by following safety policies and procedures.
- Supports a quality work environment by following appropriate policies and procedures.
- Completes weekly, monthly, and yearly preventative maintenance duties on Operations machinery, equipment, and tooling per preventive maintenance (PM) procedures and as assigned
- Documents required repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Observes gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure equipment is working properly.
- Inspects equipment, products, materials, or packaging to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
- Repairs, cleans, lubricates, or adjusts machinery to optimally maintain the equipment.
- Disassembles, repairs, or replaces malfunctioning/broken machinery or equipment components.
- Reassembles equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repair.
- Examines parts for defects, such as excessive wear or breakage.
- Cleans work areas using basic cleaning materials.
Qualifications - Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, use, repair, and maintenance
- Must possess a high level of knowledge of machine and tooling maintenance requirements
- Must have the ability to disassemble and reassemble machinery, tooling and equipment
- Must have the ability to run basic machine shop equipment
- Must have the ability to accurately use calipers, dial indicators and micrometers
- Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Products and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Mgmt. System)
- Efficiently manages time and prioritizes tasks to meet deadlines and goals.
- Strong problem-solving skills to identify issues and develop effective solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with coworkers, along with internal and external customers and key stakeholders
- Builds strong relationships with others, fostering a supportive and engaged workplace.
- Provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
Education & Experience - High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) required, associate degree in technical field preferred
- Minimum of one (1) year related experience or one (1) year technical training
- Training in maintenance/repair of mechanical equipment and machinery a plus
- Training in industrial electrical repair and maintenance a plus
Work Environment/Physical Demands: - This position requires 20% clerical and planning and 80% material handling, production assembly machine operations, and/or walking and assisting production employees
- Work is primarily performed on the manufacturing floor where noise levels may be moderate or high and hearing protection may have to be worn
- Eye and foot protection may have to be worn
- There is potential for lifting weights up to 30 pounds may occur regularly, with a potential for lifting weights of up to 45 pounds on an occasional basis
- There is potential exposure to extreme temperatures
- The occasional physical demands of the position include climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and eye/hand/foot coordination
- May stand or sit for prolonged periods of time
